West Bromwich Albion has appointed former Newcastle manager Steve Bruce on an 18-month contract.
The 61-year-old takes over from Valerien Ismael, who quit the team on Wednesday following a seven-game winless streak.
He takes command of a Baggies side that started strong but has since slipped to sixth position in the Championship.
He brings his long-serving assistant Stephen Clemence, Steve Agnew, who has been a part of his backroom squad since his Villa days, and his son Alex Bruce as a coach, to join James Morrison and Gary Walsh on the Albion coaching staff.
Bruce stated that he did not foresee such a rapid return to managing following his departure from Newcastle.
