Watford sack Claudio Ranieri After Less Than Four Months in Charge

Claudio Ranieri has been sacked by Watford after just 14 games and less than four months in command.

The Italian, 70, was appointed on 4 October but earned just seven Premier League points in 13 games.

Watford’s 3-0 home defeat to Norwich on Friday dropped them into the bottom three, prompting the club’s owners to act.

This means Watford is on the lookout for their fifteenth manager since the Pozzo family assumed control in 2012.

Watford won just two games under the former Sampdoria manager, and he leaves the team in 19th place, two points from safety.

They have lost seven of their last eight Premier League games and will next face relegation rivals Burnley on Saturday 5 February in a crucial encounter at the bottom of the table.
