The West Indies’ batting requires ‘immediate attention,’ according to Simmons.

West Indies failed to score 200 runs in their 3-0 defeat to India in one-day internationals, and coach Phil Simmons described the team’s extended batting slump as “hurtful” on Friday.

The visitors were defeated by 96 runs in the last match in Ahmedabad after being bowled for 169 in their chase of 266.

The once-powerful West Indies have failed to bat out their complete 50 overs in six of their previous ODI matches, suffering their second consecutive series setback following a stunning defeat to Ireland last month.
