Introduction

The ABC is the abbreviation for Annapurna base camp, it is also known as  the Annapurna sanctuary so there is no difference between the meaning of these two words because here the trekking is along the protected areas of  trails 

Overview

The story of the Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of perseverance, hard work, determination,grit-all of it. The traffic, dusty roads, narrow streets and temples and the smiling people will greet you at Kathmandu before starting a big adventure in the Himalayas. 

It provides gorgeous views of the highest mountains in the world with the scenic experience of the people, Nepali culture, tradition and their programs. Annapurna base camp trek is one of the most popular in the Annapurna region. 

Flora & Fauna

Many species along the trek are found named floral and faunal, surely enhancing the beauty of this scrumptious trek. It is present at the top list of those who like to adventure. This trek is 55 km long and is located in North Central Nepal. It is bounded by the narrow valley of kali Gandaki in the Marsyangdi river in the north.

And east and by the Pokhara valley in the south. 

Its highest mountain is Annapurna, which is 8091 meters above sea level and is the tenth-highest mountain in the world. It is the largest conservative area of Nepal. 

Route of the journey and how difficult is it?

The route of Annapurna base camp is neither too difficult nor too easy so it comes in the moderate category. There are many obstacles in the trek and rugged trekking trails. In such a complex trek you may have to give 5 to 6 kilometres of effort. The journey of the fascinating Annapurna base camp trek begins from a beautiful city, Pokhara, which takes 5 to 6 hours from the capital (Kathmandu) to reach. 

Kathmandu is easily accessible. Hence it is the first choice of many trekkers. There are also good communication and safety services. Annapurna has the highest fatality ratio in all eight thousand peaks. The best thing about the trek is that you will find tea houses everywhere which makes very comfortable the entire travelling experience.

You will touch 13549 feet in height only in 6 days of trekking with a good experience and training It also provides a glimpse of Nepali culture. Historically, the peaks of the Annapurna base camp trek are among the most dangerous pictures in the world for mountaineers. This is Ghandruk where the maximum altitude attains 4,200  meters

How to reach

Let’s first start with the cost of the Annapurna Base Camp trek. You have to spend approximately 20000 NPR which comes down to 12500 INR. It was less than that if you make big rough estimates then your entire trek from Kathmandu to Kathmandu will be completed in this way. 

And split the cost into flights, buses or cabs to Ghandruk accommodation. As the altitude keeps on increasing at Annapurna Base Camp similarly the expenditure also increases.

Cost to reach

The first expenditure is transportation costs with flight one side cost is 2,500 NPR from Kathmandu to Pokhara. So a roughly return ticket comes in at 5,000 INR. If you have to reduce the budget further. If you don’t take a flight than many buses run from Kathmandu to Pokhara which will run every 15 minutes regularly, buses keep running and you will get it in the range of 400 and  800 NPR. 

Coming to the next expenditure which is food, whatever accommodation you are opting for, we are taking accommodation by including breakfast and dinner. I will highly suggest you keep eating dal that which is the staple food of Nepal it is amazingly very -very filling and you will get Dal Bhat, in one meal for 500 NPR. Coming to the last thing is the permits. 

The permit will cost you only 1,000 NPR. to go to Kathmandu. On Nepal Tourism Board, where all these permits are issued. It may take a couple of hours to issue and then you can either issue for Pokhara on the same day or you can stay in Kathmandu it is very important to get permits to enter the Annapurna Base Camp section.

Time for trekking on such attractive  treks 

The best month for trekking in Annapurna base camp is the month of April and it is in the springtime with spring greenery and flowers blossoming. A perfect ambience for walking and enjoying the beautiful views of nature.
