Liverpool needed a response against Tottenham following back-to-back league losses to Nottingham Forest and Leeds United, and they got it due to Salah’s brace.
Mohamed Salah scored the game’s first goal after only 11 minutes. He added a second goal just before halftime by intercepting Eric Dier’s errant back header and putting the ball above Hugo Lloris. Harry Kane’s response helped Tottenham play significantly better in the second half, as they have often done this season.
Although they were under continual siege, they could not tie the score as Liverpool held on to earn their first away league victory of the year.
With 26 points from 14 games, Tottenham is in the fourth position, while Liverpool moved up to ninth with 19 points.
