Ghana Suffered a Humiliating Group-Stage Exit from AFCON

Ghana, four-time winners, was ousted from the Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday in Garoua after losing 3-2 to Comoros in Group C.

The Black Stars lost after Comoros’ Ahmed Mogni scored his second goal five minutes from time after captain Andre Ayew was sent off after 25 minutes.

Morocco and Gabon drew 2-2 in Yaounde to maintain the top and second position in their group and advance for Sunday’s round of 16.

Comoros, a small island country of Africa’s southeast coast, finished third and now wait until Thursday to find out whether they are one of the top four third-placed teams, which earn the last 16 slots.
